Nicklaus Design has offered to build two golf courses for the New York area; an eighteen-hole course in Delaware Park and a nine-hole course in a privately owned area near South Park. And, for Delaware Park, it is somewhat of a unique design; one that incorporates both a new course, along with the desire to preserve, and enhance, the original Olmsted design.

"[The] idea to combine our course design work with Buffalo's efforts to restore its Olmsted legacy is innovative," said Nicklaus. "And placing a golf course in an inner-city setting is exciting, and hopefully will be the same for the residents of Buffalo. I'm very happy to play any role, great or small, to help make the project succeed."
