According to a top official from the International Golf Federation the Olympic golf course in Rio will hold a one-day exhibition in March featuring 3 or 4 of the top male and female players (not yet selected).
"We're in conversations with top players- both the men's and women's tours- but we really can't say anything more beyond that," said IGF vice president Ty Votaw. The small size of the exhibition is in order to keep the course on track for the 2016 Olympics. "We just want to make sure that the golf course can come through the grow-in season," said Votaw. "To make sure that whatever competition that's held, it doesn't do anything to set back the overall conditions and grow-in of the course."
