Rounds 4 Research

With 244 rounds donated by public and private courses this year, Rounds 4 Research is off to a good start with $43,309 already raised. The funds, which will be put toward turf grass research at Clemson and N.C. State University, are gathered through the program's online auction (available here), and feature packages from courses such as Sage Valley Golf Club, Daniel Island Club and others throughout the Carolinas.

"Golfers are well aware of the research and development that goes into that $600 custom driver and $4 ball, but without research and development into turfgrass and golf course management, golf as we know it wouldn't exist," said Dara Park, assistant professor of turfgrass and soil and a water quality specialist in Clemson University's School of Agricultural, Forest and Environmental Sciences.

Running until June 21, Rounds 4 Research is the result of a partnership between the Environmental Institute for Golf, the Carolinas Golf Course Superintendents Association and golf courses throughout North and South Carolina.
